Winter Hours & Free Wood Chips at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids
The Solid Waste Agency yard waste, compost, shingle recycling and recycling facility, 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids will be enacting winter hours on Monday, November 28, 2016.
The facility will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (closed Saturday and Sunday). Winter hours are being used because customer traffic slows down significantly at the site during winter.
Operations at 1954 County Home Road, Marion, where the landfill, Resource Recovery building, and hazardous material collection are located will not be affected. Regular business hours remain in effect at that location, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Saturday.

When: Effective November 28, 2016 (the Solid Waste Agency will announce the return to regular hours in the spring)
Also, the Solid Waste Agency will be giving away wood chips for no charge starting November 28th. Normally $40.00 per ton, the Agency will give away its 2016 supply. Offer ends when the supply is gone (for Linn County residents only)!
