Business electronics recycling
Recycling electronics is important. Electronic waste or "e-waste" consists of discarded computers, televisions, cell phones, fax machines, stereos and other electronic equipment. Monitors and televisions can't be put into landfills because of their lead content. Other electronic equipment also contains heavy metals including mercury, arsenic and cadmium.
The Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency believes recycling electronics is important, but we currently only accept e-waste from residents. Businesses and commercial interests should contact an area electronics recycler. We’ve listed a few in our Home and Business Recycling Companion.
